Rust/turquoise moodboard

In a recent post I mentioned that I think there’s something je ne sais quoi fancy about rust and blue/green as a colour combo. Unfortunately I still can’t exactly pinpoint what it is I like about it. The colours are on the opposite side of the colour wheel and are thus complementary. Perhaps it’s as simple as that … Anyway, to visualise how the colours may be combined in a garden design scheme I’ve put together this rust/turquoise moodboard.

The turquoise items are:
1. An A’mare Poltrone chair by Jacopo Foggini for Edra
2. A Festuca glauca ornamental grass
3. Juniperus squamata ‘Blue carpet’
4. Hosta ‘Canadian blue

The rust coloured items are:
1. Carex testacea ‘Prairie Fire’
2. Heuchera ‘Caramel’
3. A facade in corten steel
4. Tiles a retro pattern from tileoutlets.com

Please note that these plants may not be compatible IRL (could have different soil/sun etc requirements), I just added them to this rust/turquoise moodboard to illustrate how great I think they look together …
